Sarah Tirschwell removed from GOP ballot for NYC mayor

Financier Sara Tirschwell was tossed from the ballot in her bid to run in the Republican primary for mayor Wednesday.

The Board of Elections concluded that Tirschwell did not gather enough valid Republican voter signatures to qualify.

Tirschwell was the only woman running for City Hall as a Republlican.

The two remaining candidates include Guardian Angels founder Curtis Sliwa and taxi-bodega advocate Fernando Mateo.

An ally of Mateo, Robert Morgan III, filed the challenge to Tirschwell’s petitions.

“I’m pretty devastated,” Tirschwell said. “COVID has been used to limit liberties. Why not use COVID to expand liberties?”
