Obsidian’s The Outer Worlds 2 announced during Microsoft’s E3 show

The Outer Worlds, Obsidian Entertainment’s acclaimed role-playing game, is getting a sequel — The Outer Worlds 2. The game was revealed during Microsoft’s E3 2021 presentation on Sunday. The Outer Worlds 2 will come to Xbox Series X and Windows PC.

There wasn’t much to show from The Outer Worlds 2, save for a very cheeky meta-commentary action game trailer that included a very scary glowing monster — not in the game — and, of course, people running. The story isn’t finished, either, nor is gameplay ready to show. “The only thing they have finished … is the title.” See the full trailer with meta-analysis embedded above.

“New solar system, new crew, same Outer Worlds. The Outer Worlds 2 is coming … and when that day is closer we will show you more … but until then enjoy this,” Obsidian said in its YouTube description.

The Outer Worlds was released in 2019, published by Private Division.
