Jon Rahm rebounds from COVID-19 fiasco to win US Open

Jon Rahm won the US Open on Sunday to claim his first major, capping off an emotional two weeks for the golfer.

The 26-year-old, who had to withdraw while leading The Memorial earlier this month, because he tested positive for the coronavirus, used a downhill birdie putt on the 18th hole Sunday to finish at 6-under for the Open title at Torrey Pines in San Diego, Calif.

Rahm — the first Spaniard to win a US Open — finished 4-under in the final round, enough to hold off Louis Oosthuizen, who was second at 5-under.
