Evander Holyfield Looks in Better Shape Than Mike Tyson, Teases a Massive Announcement

Relying on the recent trend of exhibition boxing, former heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield seems to have planned his return. ‘The Real Deal’, 58, still has a near-perfect heavyweight physique and has been rumored to return to action for quite a few months. Amid all the possible names for his return, Holyfield seemed to prefer Mike Tyson.

Following Tyson’s comeback against Roy Jones Jr. in November, Holyfield also teased his return. Recently, the heavyweight legend turned to social media and teased an announcement. Furthermore, he shed light on his current weight.

“I’m at 220 and ready to go announcement coming soon,” wrote Evander Holyfield.

Meanwhile, Mike Tyson recently appeared on AEW. As he went shirtless inside the ring, fans saw that his physique is nowhere near Holyfield’s. However, both the former champions deserve respect for their names as they continue to inspire the fans with their sheer activeness.

Both the former heavyweight champions have also hinted at a matchup, with ‘Iron’ Mike pitching May 29 as an official fight date. However, there are still no developments to it.

So, ‘The Real Deal’ might have moved on, and considering the current pool of names, he wouldn’t struggle to find a viable opposition, but the potential bout may not be as big as Tyson vs Holyfield 3.

Does Evander Holyfield need to fight Mike Tyson?

The USA’s legendary heavyweight doesn’t need to fight for fame, money, or legacy. He has earned it all and is one of the greatest boxers ever to have laced up the gloves. Hence, his comeback would garner attention for all the right reasons.

Although his biggest rival turned friend may not welcome him back to the ring, Holyfield would always be the superior boxer over Tyson in the history books. They have locked horns twice in their prime, and ‘The Real Deal’ has a 2-0 record. Hence, he doesn’t need this fight.

So, a trilogy bout could have only benefitted Tyson as it would have offered him a chance to secure a win against Holyfield.
