5 Things You Didn’t Know About Arnold Allen

Arnold Allen is a UFC featherweight fighter from Suffolk, England. ‘Almighty’ fights with a southpaw stance and is a product of BKK Fighters teams. He will take on Nigerian mixed martial artist Sodiq Yusuff in the co-main event of this week’s UFC Fight Night: Holland vs Vettori.

This is an important fight for both 145 pounders because it will be broadcast on ABC in a prime slot. Ahead of the Fight Night card, we take a look at five facts about the British fighter.

Arnold Allen has been training with Tristar Gym in Montreal, Canada for his upcoming fight. Retired UFC fighter Georges St-Pierre. along with Firas Zahabi and Conrad Pla, are the instructors at the gym.

‘Almighty’ Arnold Allen has gone on an impressive run under their tutelage and has claimed two ‘Performance of the Night’ bonuses in the UFC career. These have come against Alan Omer and Mads Burnell.

Arnold Allen has never lost a fight in the UFC

‘Almighty’ is on an undefeated roll in the UFC since his arrival and enjoys a 7 fight win streak. His first fight was against Alan Omer, where he submitted Omer in the third round. He also submitted Denmark’s Mads Burnell by a rear-naked choke from the front in Liverpool, England at UFC fight night 130.


Out of all his fights in the UFC, he has never won a fight by KO or TKO. Arnold Allen also defeated UFC legend Gilbert Melendez in 2019.

He fought Gilbert Melendez’s retirement fight

Melendez retired from the fight game after the loss he suffered from Allen. He dominated Melendez for straight 3 rounds and won the fight by unanimous decision. Gilbert Melendez is a savage inside the Octagon, but Arnold Allen handled the pressure very well. He showcased a crafty performance and solidified himself as a talent to reckon with.

Personally, Arnold Allen wanted Melendez to retire as he was not in his best shape and was on a losing streak of 4 fights before this fight with Allen.

He competed as a kickboxer and an Amateur Boxer

Including MMA, he also tested his iron in Kickboxing and fought 3 fights where he won all. Amateur boxing where he is again undefeated in 5 fights. Certainly, Allen is a complete mixed martial artist because he has tried other combat sports too. ‘Almighty’ brings his ruthless style with his never dying attitude, which has proved a deadly combination for his opponents.


‘Almighty’ stared as a 135 pounds fighter early in his career

Before entering the Featherweight division in the UFC, Allen stated as a Bantamweight fighter in other organizations like UCMMA.

He made a quick jump to 145 pounds and now is competing in the Featherweight division for the UFC. Allen is ranked no 10 in the Featherweight ranking just under Jeremy Stephens.

Now he is ready to face Sodiq Yusuff, who himself is an undefeated fighter in the UFC. Fans are expecting another fight of the night performance from these two fighters.
