Oklahoma Sooners add former LSU running back

The Oklahoma Sooners gained depth at running back this week, officially adding former LSU rusher and four-star recruit Kevontre Bradford.

The news was first reported by SoonerScoop.com.

Bradford originally chose LSU over the likes of Oklahoma State, Ohio State, Texas and Wisconsin when he was coming out of high school in Lancaster, Texas.

The 6-foot, 190-pounder rushed for 58 yards on 10 carries in five games last season at LSU. Bradford also reeled in three receptions for 13 yards and a touchdown.

One of his more notable showings was in LSU’s win over Ole Miss on Dec. 19, when he carried the ball nine times for 53 yards.

Now at OU, Bradford joins the ranks of Kennedy Brooks, Marcus Major, Mikey Henderson and Tennessee transfer Eric Gray. The Sooners had a need at running back after Seth McGowan was removed from the team following an alleged armed robbery in April.

Where exactly Bradford ultimately falls in the competition will be something to watch, but it seems there’s more opportunity for significant playing time down the road for Bradford in Oklahoma than he had at LSU.
